Eid in the Emirates

This Eid, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (Abu Dhabi TCA) will be hosting the first EidFest, a celebratory festival of events taking place throughout the three days of the season of Eid.

 

Focusing on conserving and promoting the heritage and culture of the emirate, Abu Dhabi TCA aims to bring out the beauty of the city through a series of events.

 

Concerts, celebrity performances, mall entertainment, night markets and other attractions around the city populate the packed schedule. The performances will kick off on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre with performances from Moroccan star Mona Amarcha and Lebanese singer Melhem Zain. On Monday, rising Emirati star Mansour Zayed will take to the stage.

 

The festivities focus around the idea of  “Our Eid, Your Eid”, bringing out  the best of entertainment for the public during the seasonal event. Faisal Al Sheikh, events manager at ADTCA says: ‘This is the first of a regular EidFest Abu Dhabi campaign which is being promoted to ensure visitors and residents can come together to share the atmosphere and celebrations of this festive time.’

 

To cater to the whole family a live showing of Karameesh, a popular Jordanian TV kids music show, will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre.

 

Elsewhere in the emirate Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be hosting a quiz for visitors, the Emirates Park Zoo in Al Bahia will introduce a reptile and amphibians exhibit.

 

Finally, there will be 10 booths scattered throughout the emirate which will open for three days of Eid to greet guests with dates, Arabic coffee and henna, which will offered free of charge.
